The past three months Carl Fredrik Angell was in Boston for an apprenticeship, with Josh Luke and Meredith Kasabian of Best Dressed Signs, to learn the old craft of sign painting. This is some pictures of basic lettering exercises and projects he worked on.

barryjohnson77: I have a lot of copies of story drawings hanging up on my walls at work for inspiration. This is one I’ve had hanging up for a long time. It’s Dodger asleep in front of a tv from Disney’s Oliver and Company.  Fantastic use of lights and darks and I love how everything in the sketch frames Dodger so that your eye is directed to his face. I’m not sure what was used to draw this but it looks like china marker with a water color wash.
